CD release party
(Songs of Joy and Silence) in Zurich on
25th March 2011
It was full house! Together with our friend, singer and pianist Sundaram, the CD release party marked the starting point of our 12-concerts tour through Switzerland, Germany and Austria.
Supported by Usha and Doris on vocals we were very glad to feature Sonja Morgenegg. Her cristal clear voice is ever present on our new CD.
It was a juicy party to sing and dance along, spiked with humor and moments of silence and serenity.
Sundaram feat. Govinda Express & friends, 2nd Rainbow Spirit Festival 2010
The experiment to team up with Sundaram at 2. Rainbow Music&Dance Festival in Baden Baden (Germany) was a lucky wink of the universe. So much joy, clarity, ease, spontaneity, and musical skills! This experience bilds the cornerstone of our upcoming journey together as a trio with special guests at times. In Sundaram we have not only found a fantastic singer but also a sensational concert pianist. What a pleasure! So we will be playing music out of both our rich repertoirs. The Govinda Express feat. Sundaram takes aim on new adventures!
CD release party Zurich,
trips to Munich and Freiburg, November 2008
The 21st of November marked the launch of our CD ‘One World Ticket’ in the Volkshaus Zurich with an exquisite 7-member-band who took the juicy audience on a musical world tour. Next to Sonja, Anugraha and Veetkam, the band consisted of Balamurali Visargaperumal on vocals, Ramanada Bittencourt on bass and Roli Elmer on drums. Equally well recieved was our music in Munich and Freiburg the following weekend.
Preparation from the concerts in Anugraha’s studio
The challenge was immense: we wanted to present our music live just like it sounds on our CD ‘One World Ticket’. Little time, big technical actions, tuning in – it resulted in intense, creative and playful moments.
Musicians who played on the ‘One World Ticket’ CD
It was a huge project that took us more than a year. Manose on bansuri, Sandhya Sanjana and Peter Makena with heavenly vocals were completed by our national musician friends, like Sonja Morgenegg, Vedam Roché and Ma Deva Manu, who contributed so greatly to our various tunes and styles.
